The goals of the project solutions can be divided into the following parts:
-
Creating the theoretical background for suggesting of reactivation kit – studying of related topics, mainly the fields
related to setting the activities of individual types of cholinesterases in blood and possible practical realization of this setting.
Studying of antidotal therapy after organophosphate poisoning and suggesting the reactivation kit. The goal is to choose the optimum
and easily used method for determination of cholinesterase activities and their reactivability.
-
Suggestion of theoretical setting and order of reactivation kit, practical testing of its function – creating the
suggestion of functional setting of this kit which will have 3 main parts –
a) Part for blood withdrawal and processing
b) Part used for determination of cholinesterase activity, enabling to differentiate between intoxicated people from healthy people and roughly set the seriousness of poisoning
c) Part used for reactivation test itself, which will give an information about the suitable antidote for poisoning treatment or, in case of carbamate pesticides, or other inhibitors of cholinesterase will suggest not using this treatment.
Function of each part will be tested on simulated blood samples and will be optimalized according to the results. The evaluation of
temperature influence will be measured.
-
Creating of a functional prototype of reactivation kit – setting the final prototype of the kit and validation of its
functionality on simulated samples. The final solution and setting of the kit will be optimalized and the user manual will be prepared.
